One of the reasons for the Snowshoe Lite course is to provide an opportunity to try out snowshoeing without having to make a big investment in time or equipment.

The following are a few places around the Seattle area where you can rent snow shoes as well as packs and other gear. Renting is a great way to try out different brands of snowshoes to find what works best for you. Many ski areas also rent snowshoes at their Nordic ski centers but call ahead first.
