Late afternoon light

The Snowshoe-Lite course offers an introduction in safe and enjoyable winter travel for the beginner. This is not a full course but instead a chance for those who want to get a taste of snowshoeing and pick up a few good skills without the commitment of a full course.

Course Structure

The Snowshoe lite course will be offered once this season. The course will be offered as a split session with one lecture at the Seattle clubhouse on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 and a field trip on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Snoqulmie Pass.

Topics of instruction include:

  • selection & use of proper equipment
  • conditioning
  • where to go snowshoeing
  • what and where to rent
  • winter travel
  • safety

Students will be eligible to participate in snowshoe tours designated as easy and easy+ with the confidence of having a foundation in winter travel.
