Learn to dig a snow cave, build an igloo, pitch a tent, and create a comfortable camp in the snow. Go on the "Tour de Caves" and admire the creativity of your friends and fellow students. Come with us and learn what a warm and pleasant experience winter camping can be! This new course consists of one lecture and one overnight field trip.
Course Structure
Lecture: Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 7-10 p.m. at club headquarters in Seattle. Winter camping techniques, snow cave & igloo construction.
Field Trip: Saturday and Sunday, February 25-26, Mt. Baker
Course Registration
Registration begins December 1. You can register online at www.mountaineers.org, in person at the offices in Seattle, or by mail using the course registration form (available online or through the office).

Eligibility
To participate in the class, you must have completed the Snowshoe Lite, Scrambling, Climbing, Backcountry Ski or Snowshoe Course. If you are not currently a member and would like to learn more about our club, please see the information page, or call (206) 284-6310 and ask for a membership application. You must be at least 14 years old to participate. 14-18 year-olds must have parental permission and be interviewed by one of the Snowshoe Committee Co-Chairs.
